Myrtle C. Kinney, 80, R1, Mason, died at a Duluth hospital, Tuesday, September 8.
She was born August 18, 1901, at Pleasant Valley, St. Croix county, and later lived in Baldwin and attended Hudson High school.
She married Philip Kinney, a former Mason postmaster, at Hudson in June 1918, and they celebrated their 50th anniversary in 1968.
They later moved from St. Paul to the Mason area. She was a member of St. Aloysius Catholic church, the Altar Society, a charter member of the Ashland-Bayfield County Coop Equity association (now Midland Services), an active member of the American Legion Auxiliary, the National Postmasters Auxiliary and a member of the North Wisconsin Retired Federal Employees Associaiton and numerous other community activities.
She is survived by a daughter, Lorraine Kinney, Mason, two sons, Donald, Mason and Vincent, Superior, nine grandchildren and one great grandchild; a sister, Mrs. Theresa Hanson, Baldwin.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1972, a daughter, Eileen, and her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Knute Osher, long time Hudson residents.
Services were at St. Aloysius chuch and burial was in the family plot in Mason.
Area relatives were attended included: Mrs. Theresa Hanson and Mr. and Mrs. Eldon Ramberg, Baldwin; Mrs. Mark Kinney, Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Haak and John Afdahl, who served as a pallbearer, Hammond, Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Kinney and Mr. and Mrs. Richard Kinney, Hudson, Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Kinder and daughters Connie and Crystal, Glenwood City, Mr. and mrs. Francis Coulson, Plum city and Mr. and Mrs. Budd Kliechner of Bayport.
