Lyle Sockness of Bayport, died at Lakeview Memorial Hospital, Stillwater, Monday, Sept. 2, after an extended illness.
Mr. Sockness was born in Cedar Falls, Wis., Feb. 26, 1902. As a young boy he moved to Bayport with his family and had resided there since. Mr. Sockness was associated with the grocery business in Bayport for many years.
He is survived by his wife, Helga, formerly Helga Staberg of Hudson; one son, Ronald; two daughters, Cheryl and Mrs. Robert Klund, all of Bayport; two brothers, Melvin of Bayport and Alvin of Coon Rapids; one sister, Mrs. Paul (Eva) Keresey of Miami, Fla. and two grandchildren, Cynthia and Steven Klund.
Funeral services were Wednesday, Sept. 4, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church at Bayport. The Rev. Alf Wattman officited. Burial was in Hazelwood cemetery, Bayport.
