Luther Sherman Badgett, who died at his ranch home near Ashland last Thursday evening from a heart attack, was buried in Miles City Monday. The services at the church were conducted by the Rev. Mr. Parish of the Methodist church, and at the grave by the Masonic fraternity. The honorary pallbearers were E. Lee Wilson, James Hunter, Kenneth McLean, J. C. Anderson, Sol Heren, Fred G. Woolsey and P. S. Richardson.
Mr. Badget was born on October 11, 1866 in Springfield KY. He was the son of Hardin Badget and Elizabeth Badget. In 1886 the family moved to Mount Zion, Ill., and in the spring Luther came west to Fort Fetterman, Wyo., where he worked for the Fiddle Back cattle outfit until the year 1888. Then he came to the Goshen Hole country in the Big Horn basin to work for the Bay State Cattle Company. During the summer of 1889 he was employed by the Sidney Padgett outfit on Otter creek. Later he worked for the Bryan and Moorhead outfit until about 1905, when Colonel Bryan bought out the interests of Mr. Moorhead and engaged in business with Mr. Badgett. He was in the cattle business with Colonel Bryan until the time of his death.
He is survived by his widow, four sons, Wallace, Lee, George and Kirk, and a daughter, Mrs. Ina Collins, who is living in California.
