Walter C. "Bud" Jones, age 82, entered into rest March 29, 2000 in Spokane, his home for over 40 years. Mr. Jones was born on November 2, 1917 in Jordan, Montana to Walter and Hazel Jones. He enlisted in the U.S. Army during WWII, became a bazooka man and fought in the Battle of the Bulge. In 1946, he married alice Rehmke in Ephrata, Washington, and followed the carpentry trade until 1974, when he started operating a restaurant and motel in Spokane. He belonged to Carpenters Local #98, and loved to fish and travel and just enjoying his family and life in general. Mr. Jones is survived by his wife of 53 years, Alice Jones; sons, Clifford Rehmke and Ronald Jones of Spokane; daughters, Christine Hoyt of Moro, Oregon, Candis Mann of Springdale, Washington, Donna Harvey, Marcia Myers, and Wendy Quinnan, all of Spokane; his brother, Don Jones of Riverside, California; Waneita Rees of Spokane and Hazeletta Gavin of Sacramento, California, 24 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son, Leroy Rehmke. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, April 3, 2000 at Sunset Chapel, Fairmount Memorial park.
Walter Jones was a brother to the late Mrs. May Haney of Jordan and an uncle to Mrs. Dave Huston of Brusett.
