Delbert D.[Donald] Cole, 74, longtime Miles City area resident passed away Friday evening, April 7, 2000 in the Holy Rosary Health Care Center.
He was born September 18, 1925 in Terry, a son of Neil and Kathleen Dursham Cole. He grew up and attended schools in the Terry area.
Delbert married Betty Spracklin Stocker March 21, 1961 in Glendive. The couple made their home in Miles City.
He ran a ten man sheep shearing crew for over 34 years, shearing throughout Eastern Montana. He also hauled hay for area farmers and ranchers during the early summer and late fall.
Delbert enjoyed chasing wild horses and attending rodeos.
He was preceded in death by a daughter and a son.
Survivors include his wife Betty of Miles City; a son, D.J. (Martha) Cole of Brookings, Oregon; three daughters, Carol (Gary) Davis of Vernia, Oregon; Lori (Tom) Merritt of Aberdeen, New Jersey' and Karla Rae Cole Murphy of Miles City; three step-daughters, Vicki (Pat) Breen of Mildred, Montana; O'Della (Tom) Cox of Milton Free Water, Oregon; and Gloria (Gene) Spirler of Bartleville, Oklahoma; one step-son, Michael (Deb) Stocker of Miles City and numerous grand and great grandchildren.
Cremation has taken place in the Bullis-Graves Eastern Montana Crematory on Water Plant Road in Miles City. Memorial Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday in the Bullis-Graves Memorial Chapel. Private interment of the ashes will follow at a later date. Bullis-Graves Memorial Chapel of Miles City has been entrusted with the arrangements.
