Isadore Orthon Hakseth, the son of Olaf Hakseth and Tena Torgerson, was born April 18, 1921, in Frey, Lincoln Township, Burnett County, Wis., and was reared in the Grantsburg area.
He was married to Mildred Hawkinson, of Siren, on March 30, 1942, at Center City, Minn. They made their home south of Siren. Four sons and three daughters were born to this union.
At the time of his death he was employed by Don Daniels Construction, Siren, as a machine operator. Death came suddenly on June 18, 1978, at the Frederic Hospital, at the age of 57 years.
Isadore is survived by his wife Mildred, sons, Charles of Medford, Wis., Arthur of Siren, Walter of St. Paul, Minn., David of Siren, daughters, Agnes, Mrs. Warren Anderson, of Anoka, Minn., Elizabeth, Mrs. Denis Simonsen of Siren, Veda, Mrs. Gerald Moore of Hopkins, Minn.; seven grandchildren, one sister Olive, Mrs. Milton Jensen of Grantsburg; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers.
Funeral services were held June 20, 1978, at the Siren United Methodist Church, with Rev. Lester Thiel officiating. Mrs. Joan Daniels was the soloist and Mrs. Pearl Tewalt was the organist.
Honorary casketbearers were Steve Rivard, Roy Wicklund, David Daniels, Dean Daniels and Dayton Daniels. Active casketbearers were Don Daniels, Frank Maslow, Larry Tewalt, Calvin Benson, Gene Olson and Henry Martin.
Interment was in Lakeview Cemetery at Siren with the Swedberg Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
