OBITUARY: Jordan Tribune
Claude L. Saylor died January 11th, 1952, at the home of his daughter, Mr. and
Mrs. Ray Shawver of Brusett, where he was visiting. He was stricken with a
heart attack and passed away immediately.
Claude was born March 13th, 1885 at Mankato, Minn. He married Claribel
Matteson in 1920 and they came to Montana in 1911. They have lived in and
around Jordan since that time.
Besides his wife he leaves to mourn two children, Woodrow M. Saylor and Jessie
M. Shawver, Brusett, and seven grandchildren. Five brothers: Wm. Saylor,
Mankato, Minn., Ed J. Saylor, and Arthur of Brusett, John of Kentucky and
Julius, West Salem, Ill. Two sisters, Martha Rideway, Orland, Calif., and
Sister M. Regis, Spokane, Wash., also several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at the Catholic church in Jordan on Tuesday, January
15th, with burial in the Jordan cemetery.
