James E. Roufley

James was born at Stanton, N.D., on August 17, 1918, the son of James Franklin
and Ethel May Percy Roufley. He attended country school in North Dakota, and
at Glendive, Mont., moving to Miles City at the age of six, where he attended
school. Following school he worked for theWPA and the Crow Rock Ranch. He
entered the US Army in December of 1941 during WWII and was discharged in
January 1946.

James was married to Bertha Spracklin in Miles City, on Sept. 18, 1948. They
moved to Brusett, where they purchased a ranch. He farmed and ranched until
the time of his death. He was a member of the VFW.

He is survived by his wife Bertha of Brusett; son AlRoy Roufley of Brusett;
three daughters, Violet Kjellstrom and Mrs. Ken (Joyce) Holmlund, both of Miles
City, and Mrs. Gary (Elaine) Snider of Gillette, Wyo.; one brother, Lloyd
Roufley of Port Townsend, Wash.; seventeen grandchildren and numerous nieces
and nephews.

Interment was in the Veterans section in Custer County Cemetery, with military
graveside rites.
