Benjamin J. Green, formerly of New Richmond, died on June 23 at the Burnett General Hospital in Grantsburg are the age of 79.
He was born June 9, 1904 in Sparta to Carson and Florence Green. On May 11, 1928 he married Symilda Peck at Pine City, Minn. They lived in New Richmond where he was employed for 38 years. In 1966 they moved to Oakland township.
Survivors include his wife, Symilda; three sons, Gordon of New Richmond, Donald of Roberts and LeRoy of Osceola; 19 grandchildren; three brothers, Chester of Webster, Beryl of Hertel and Wilbur of DeSota; one sister, Ella Bomar of Harder, Minn. and by nieces and nephews.
He was preceeded in death by seven brothers and sisters.
Funeral services were June 25 at Grace United Methodist Church in Webster, with Rev. James Bradshaw officiating. Mrs. Theman Danielson was the soloist and Pearl Olson was the organist.
Casketbearers were Ray Peterson, Jerome Johnson, Howard Whitford, LeRoy Wells, Leroy Romsos, and Otto Harmon. Interment was in Oak Grove Cemetery at Webster. The Swedberg Funeral Home of Webster was in chrage of the arrangements.
