Philias Severe (Frenchy) Carufel, a 35-year resident of St. Paul, Minn., and formerly of Somerset, died recently. He was 69 years old.
Philias was born on April 20, 1928. He attended school in Somerset and worked as a truck driver. He married Margaret Johnson.
Philias was preceded in death by his parents, Philias and Rose Carufel; his brother, John Carufel; his second wife, Margaret Carufel; and sister, Rose Baillargeon.
He is survived by his sons, Robert and Gerard Carufel; his daughter, Paula Brandt; his brothers, Edmund and Donald Carufel; his sisters, Antoinette Badok, Eileen Thompson, Isabelle Staehnke, Blanche Luethy and Elizabeth Oviatt; nine grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Oct. 21, at 1 p.m. at St. Anne's Catholic Church in Somerset. There will be a visitation two hours prior to the service at the church.
