Joseph Powers, 72, died Friday at St. John's hospital in St. Paul, where he had been a cancer patient for several weeks. He had undergone surgery in August.
Powers was a retired employee of the Minnesota State prison at Bayport. He was married to the former Frances Beaudry of Hudson.
Survivors include his wife and two brothers, Clifford of Stillwater and Herbert of St. Paul.
Funeral services were Tuesday morning at 9:30 at the Simonet funeral home in Stillwater and at 10 at St. Mary's Catholic church at Stillwater with burial at St. Michael's cemetery, Bayport.
