Michael was a graduate of the University of North Carolina and Southeastern Baptist Seminary.
After serving as the Chaplain of Fountain Correction Center for over 20 years, Michael served as a Field Officer for Edgecombe County Probation and Parole until his retirement on October 1, 2011. On that very same day he was presented the most prestigious award "The Order of the Long Leaf Pine". This award was given for his many years of dedication to the State of North Carolina.
Mike was an avid motorcyclist and served as the Vice President of the local Blue Knights Chapter BKXXI.
