John William Lawrence

John W. Lawrence lived near Brassfield Church in Granville county. He fought in the war between the states and was known as "Pop Corn" Lawrence to his war comrades. He was a mason and is buried at Banks Church. Mary Elizabeth is buried at the Clay place. John and Mary had twelve children. The house that John built near Brassfield is now owned by E. T. Husketh's son Craig Husketh.
