Charles Dudley Dew

(14 Sep 1877 - 7 Nov 1895)

The cemetery was constructed as a memorial to his son. Charles Dew owned a horse and buggy, a gift from his father, and after the boy's death the father would not permit the horse to be worked and the animal has since been cared for as a member of the family. He had the buggy set up in his boy's bedroom and there it stands to this day, surrounded by the boy's things, even to his gun, playthings and clothing. Tod Dew and his wife parted some years ago. Mrs. Dew going to her home in Ohio. During the years of her absence Dew provided for her and in the trust deed disposing of his property, he made provision for her as long as she lives.
