Betty born and died in Beech Creek, Ashley Co. AR at about the age of three years. The story is that she had wandered away from a creek bank where her mother was washing clothes. It was assumed that she was killed and eaten by a wild animal, perhaps a bear. All that was found was one sock and a bonnet ribbon.
