John Wesley Dew 'Due'

In 1830 John lived in Maury Co. TN. In 1840 John moved to Haywood Co. TN. Nancy born in VA. She was an orphan raised by an Abernathy family. Nancy died in Mountain Home, Baxter Co. AR. She is buried at Reed's Grove Church, Baxter Co. AR. From 1860-1864 she lived in Independence Co. AR. In 1852 John and his family decided to move from Tennessee to Arkansas. In March 1852, John swam across the Mississippi River to get a boast to make the river crossing. John caught a cold and later died from pneumonia. After John died, Nancy moved with her seven children to Arkansas and settled near Flippin, Arkansas. Info. from family history compiled by A.L. Due, Cave City AR, about 1969.
