Charles Lukens

Charles became Deputy Surveyor of the West Branch of the Valley of the Susuehanna. While surveying the county area he discovered a large spring.It was named the Bellefonte and flowed at the rate of 11.5 million gallons per day.Charles and Margaret lived in York Co. Pennsylvania during the Revolutionary War, he served as a Captain in the fifth Company in York County.
