Individual Details
Lieutenant Joseph Doolittle
(25 Jan 1738 - Abt 1790)
Joseph was Lieut. in Col. Cranes reg't (New York troops) in the Revolutionary army. His sons Reuben, Hopkins, Daniel and probably Joseph also served in the same reg't as privates under Captain Truesdell, and were from Westchester county. Reuben was a corporal. It is said that Reuben and 3 of his brothers drifted away from the rest of the children at the time of the Revolution. Some were afterwards traced by his son Henry and their descendants found in Ohio and farther west.
