Death

Samuel Hamilton Adams Lukens wrote to
his brother L78337 Jacob Cadwallader Lukens informing him of their mother's
death. The letter is dated April 8, 1876, Fillmore, Ohio.
"...we had the bad luck to loose our Beloved Mother. She slipped on the ice and
fell on the 3rd of last March and broke her hip bone. She lay in
bed confined for five weeks. Her lungs became affected and she died the 4th of
April about midnight and we buried her the 7th in the fore
noon...'
Her body was interred April 7, 1876 in ATHENS, OH.
