Individual Details
Moses Doolittle
(1766 - 27 Oct 1850)
He was a captain of militia and followed farming. He was a hewer of timber and a river worker.
Moses was a short, strongly built man, possessed remarkable powers of endurance, and his superior ability was widely recognized and respected by frontiersmen who were pugnaciously disposed. Indeed it is said "He was a game fighter inhis early days." He gave little time to farming, but worked much on the river and was a great hewer of timber.
