Marriage
They sided with the British during the Revolution and moved to Canada as expatriates. I believe the residents of Derby pretty much drove them out of town.Event
during the American Revolution, when Abner is taken prisoner in Oct. 1777, after the Battle at Saratoga, for he was with the British. He later escaped to Canada where his wife joined him, at the refugee camp at Fort William Henry, now Sorel, Quebec.He later settled on an Island in the St. Lawrence River( Isle Bouchard), and his children are baptize in Catholic churches in St. Sulpice or Vercheres, which are towns on each side of the river, with the Island in between.
