Notes:
Thomas ran away to sea at age 11, and was in Nansemond Co., VA by 1630.
Corinne Hanna Diller writes that the legend says that Thomas ran away to sea at age 11. c 1630 supposed to be in VA. Ann, his wife, was transported to St. Mary's Co, MD in 1637. she was not designated as a servant. Thomas is said to have followed William Claiborne, in his trading expeditions up the Chesapeake Bay, and then settled in ST. Mary's Co, as a Protestant planter. As a trade, he went back and forth between MD and VA. His childrent were presumed to have been born in MD, but most were in England during the 1670's. Her research shows that Thomas was not the father of John Norris 1642-1710
