He probably became a seafaring man and lived in Newport, R. I., for in 1746 the Hartford Probate Court granted letters of administration to Samuel Mackey and Benjamin Cornwall "on the estate of William Corn- wall, late of Newport in the Colony of Rhode Island as is now in the Colony of Connecticut."
