Individual Details
Clement Newton
(1757 - Bef 1799)
Notes:
Does anyone have any idea who THIS Clement is and any guesses as to Arnold?
April 2, 1799 in the Centinel of Liberty there is an advertisement proclaiming that the Partnership of Arnold and Clement Newton is dissolved and persons who either have claims against it or who owe money should contact Clement.
Arnold and Clement Newton are dissolving their partnership in early 1799 - the advertisements of that dissolution I believe continue to appear into early summer with all accounts payable going to Clement in Washington. I notice you have Clement dying before 1799. Do we have two Clements? Arnold continues to be listed in the 1800 District of Columbia census although I have to admit I am at a loss to find Clement.
Cheers, Jackie King
