He was afflicted with the same mental trouble as his twin bro. Silas had to be guarded and cared for by his bro. Reuben, as bro. Sam- uel was by s. Alfred. It is very remarkable that both twins died THE DOOLITTLE FAMILY. 249 the same hour and moment — the one in Vt. and the other in Cheshire. These extraordinary coincidences point to them as one of those very rare examples of so-called "telepathic" twins.
