I, Cornwell DOUD, of Middletown, in the County of Hartford, do makethis my last will & testament: I give unto my hououred mother MaryDOUD my cow and calf, my best barrow swine and my sow and all thefamily provisison. I give these for the use of my sd. mother and thefamily now dwelling with her, and also so much of my grain as they mayhave occasion to use till the next crop comes in. I also give my sd.mother 1-2 of the grain which I now have growing, and 1 hive of bees,and all my apparrel (except my two best sutes); also, I give her mysilver shirt buttons and a silver shilling, all my part of the wool& flax and ye woolen & linen yarn. I give to my brother DavidDOUD my mare. And all other of my estate, both real & personal, Igive to and among all my brethern and sisters in the followingproportions, viz.: To each of my brothers (being five) 1-7, and to eachof my sisters (being four) 1-14. And my will is that my brother Davidshall have all my real estate, provided he will pay to my otherbrothers and my sisters their proportion thereof according as the samewas valued and set in the inventory of the estate of my honoured fatherDavid DOUD dece., 2-3 therof within 12 months after they shallseverally arrive to lawfull age, and the other third after the deceaseof my sd. mother. I appoint my brother David DOUD sole executor.
