Joseph Peckham and his family lived in Middletown, Rhode I s land, where he was admitted as a freeman (citizenship) i n M ay, 1760. He was described as a zealous patriot in the Revolution. Being of strong and firm conviction, he rema ined loyal to his principles until his death. In the notice of his death, he was described as a man who strictly followed the principles of honesty and integrity. (PG. p. 264)
