Event
In 1807 Thomas moved his family to HardinCounty, Ky. His son Walter & wife ,Rachel, followed as was the custom .
There was land that could be patented in Hardin County . It was a hard
life even for farmers accustomed to haed work as the land had to be
cleared, fences built & a house to be erected. The families supported
each other in these endeavors. It is to be noted that Thomas had been
reared in the household of a "gentleman farmer" with slaves to do the
labor on the tobacco plantation in Maryland....but they were many miles
from Maryland ...a 6th generation starting over in Kentucky.

In 1810 Thomas & son Walter moved back to Washington County, Ky.according to marriage reords recording the marriages of several of the
family's grown children in that county.
