Dr. Jacob Martin

(1776 - 1834)

Jacob MARTIN was the first son of Christian Frederick MARTIN to practice medicine. He opened an office in Allentown in 1790 and continued in practice until his death in 1834. He married Jane SAVITZ, daughter of George, a tavern keeper. Of his children, Edward F. MARTIN practiced in Weaversville; Charles H. MARTIN and Tilghman H. MARTIN in Allentown.
