Death

MANSFIELD: Nancy Lee Martin, 68, of Mansfield, died Friday, January 1, 2010, at her residence. Born June 13, 1941, in Mansfield, she was the daughter of Carl and Sylvia (Furr) Rutan. Nancy retired from Ritchies Market and was previously working with Catholic Charities. She was a member of Paradise Freewill Baptist Church and enjoyed reading, crocheting and spending time with her family. She also loved her animals. Surviving are two daughters, Amie (David) Gillam and Brenda Martin all of Mansfield; grandchildren, Jessica (Michael) Bessemer, Michael Ray, Amanda Martin, James (Judy) Ray, Barbra Martin, Weanonnia Martin, Peggy Ray, Elizabeth Gillam, Bryce Gillam and Jeremiah Gillam all of Mansfield, Rachel Gillam and Zachary Gillam both of Mountain City, TN; great grandchildren, Lance Bessemer, Michael Bessemer, Jr., Nathan Bessemer, Sylvia Martin, Jayden Ray and Brandy Bond all of Mansfiled, and Cheyanne Gillam of Mountain City, TN; a sister, Shirley (Clarence) slone of Galion; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sister, Betty Carmel, and Vesta McElvain; two brothers, Robert and Dale Rutan; a grandson, Nicholas Martin; and a nephew, Jimmy Burton. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 6, 2010, at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 S. Diamond Street, Mansfield, OH 44902, conducted by Pastor Randy Nichols. Burial will follow in Mansfield Cemetery. Friends may call one hour prior to the funeral service, from 1:00-2:00 p.m., at the funeral home on Wednesday. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
