Death

Robert E. Furr Sr., 68, of Bracey, formerly of Wythe County, died Tuesday, Oct. 20, 2009. Funeral service will be held Saturday, Oct. 24, at 8 p.m. at Brookside Baptist Church in Sugar Grove. A committal service will be held Sunday, Oct. 25, at 2 p.m. at Rosewood Memorial Gardens Mausoleum in Rural Retreat. He is survived by his wife, Juanita Thomas Furr of Bracey; a daughter and son-in-law, Julie and Mike Washburn of Bracey; two sons and daughters-in-law, Robert E. Furr Jr. and Sara, Randy Buck and Emma, all of Bracey; loving and special grandchildren; two special aunts, Roberta Underwood of Berryville and Joyce McCarty of Leesburg; and very special friends, Elizabeth Frazier and family. The family will receive friends Saturday, Oct. 24, from 6 to 8 p.m. (service time) at Brookside Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Brookside Baptist Church Awanas, P.O. Box 107, Sugar Grove, VA 24375; or the Groseclose Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery Fund, c/o Roger Thomas, 1303 Dry Road, Speedwell, VA 24374.
