Death
Pastor Edward A. Furr, 71, of Martinsburg, died Wednesday, Nov. 11, 2009, at the VA Medical Center. Born Sept. 12, 1938 in Leesburg, Va., he was the son of the late Andrew Johnson Furr and Dorothy Hawes Furr Nichols. He was pastor of Leetown Baptist Church. Pastor Furr was a veteran of the U. S. Army where he assembled Nike Hercules Missiles. He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Emily L. Fouche Furr; one son, Gary Furr, of Maryland; two daughters, Teresa White and husband, Jackie, of Missouri, and Traci Connors, of Florida; foster son, Jason Neff, of Maryland; four grandchildren, Ryan White, Gary David Butler, R. Hunter Register, and Rachel Sitton, and three nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, Nov. 16, 2009, at the Leetown Baptist Church with Floyd "Bucky" Chapman officiating. Interment will be held at Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, Liver Research, 122 W. High Street, Martinsburg, WV 26501 or Leetown Baptist Church, 11511 Leetown Road, Kearneysville, WV 25430.
