Death
George Samuel "Sam" Weeks, Sr., 80, of Bentonville died Friday, Dec. 14, 2007, in his home. A funeral service will be held on Sunday at 1:00 p.m. at Maddox Funeral Home in Front Royal, VA, conducted by Rev. Barry White. Burial will follow in the Valley View Cemetery in Nokesville, VA. Mr. Weeks was born July 11, 1927, in Warrenton, son of William Jackson and Mary Matilda Furr Weeks. He was retired from the Virginia Department of Transportation and was a U. S. Army veteran of WWII. He was married to the late Leona Mae Weeks. Surviving are a daughter Barbara Pearson of Bentonville and her husband Timothy Lee Pearson, Sr.; two sons Wilson E. Weeks, Sr. of Oxford, PA and his wife Ruth Elizabeth DeHart Weeks and George S. Weeks, Jr. of Winchester and his wife Rebecca Jo Holcomb Weeks; eleven grandchildren Wilson "Eddie" Weeks, Jr., Timothy Lee Pearson, Jr., Rebecca Jean Weeks, Candice Elizabeth Weeks Davis, Rachael "Catie" Weeks, Amanda Weeks Smith, Derek Munroe Weeks, Isaac Pearson, Jr., George Barton David Weeks, Sean Samuel Caton Weeks, and Charles William Pearson; and five great-grandchildren Morgan Elizabeth Weeks, Connor Braxton Weeks, Hunter Lee Pearson, Parker Ayden Smith, and Peyton Andrew Pearson. He was preceded in death by three great-grandchildren Treye Michael Pearson, Hannah Marie Pearson, and Robert James Weeks and eight brothers and sisters. The family will receive friends on Sunday 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Blue Ridge Hospice, 333 W. Cork St., Winchester, VA 22601.Endnotes
