Dorothy B. Furr On Thursday, March 12, 2009 of Mechanicsville, VA; formerly of Alexandria, VA. Beloved wife of the late Elmer L. Furr; mother of Larsen L. Furr of Salisbury, MD, Ronald W. Furr of Mechanicsville, VA and Sandra M. Westphal of Ft. Wayne, IN; grandmother of April N. O'Bier, Benjamin L. Furr, Virginia "Dixie" L. Herweh, Stephen R. Furr and Carrie M. Williams; aunt of Gregory L. Butler, Tanya P. Pratt, Howard C. Butler and Lora E. Butler. Relatives and friends may call at JEFFERSON FUNERAL CHAPEL, 5755 Castlewellan Dr., Alexandria, VA Friday, March 20 from 7 to 9 p.m., and Saturday, March 21 from 12 to 1 p.m. where funeral service will be held Saturday, at 1 p.m. Interment Mt. Dorothy B. Furr, 83, of Mechanicsville, passed peacefully from this life to be with the Lord on March 12, 2009. She was the loving widow of E. Larsen Furr, and was preceded in death by her brothers Wesley Butler and Howard Butler; her grandson Brian Westphal, and her nephew Dennis Butler. She leaves to cherish her memory her sons Larsen Furr (Susanne) and Ronald Furr (Jeri); her daughter Sandra Westphal (Richard); nephews Greg Butler (Lindy) and Craig Butler (Laura); nieces Tanya Alexander and Lora Butler; grandsons Stephen Furr (Mary) and Benjamin Furr; granddaughters Virginia Herweh (John), Carrie Williams (Ben), and April O’Bier (Shannon); eight great-grandchildren Gabriel, Faith, Allison, Katie, Emily, Jack, Maverick, and Joshua; and many other loving relatives and friends. Dorothy (Dot) had only recently made her home here in Mechanicsville but quickly grew to love and be loved by so many of her new neighbors and her wonderful church family at Gethsemane Church of Christ. Memorial services were held in Alexandria on Saturday, March 21, 2009 and were conducted by Ronnie Jones, Minister of Gethsemane Church.
