Death

Eldridge was the son of the late Branson and Sivina Jenkins. He had made his home in Dayton, but had resided in Elkton for the past 23 years with his wife, Juanita Furr Jenkins, whom he married on September 10, 1943. Also surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Donna Lam of McGaheysville and Miss Diana Jenkins, at home; two grandsons; four sisters, Mrs. Lillian Smith and Mrs. Jesse Davis, both of Cumberland, MD, Mrs. Mae Wills of Mt. Jackson and Mrs. Virginia Strickler of Winchester; three brothers, Charles Jenkins of York, PA, Therman Jenkins of Red Bank, N.J. and Brown Jenkins of Winchester. He was a chemical operator for Merck and Co. He served with the Army overseas during WWII, and fought in the Battle of the Bulge. He was a member of the Evangelical United Methodist Church in Elkton, Gooden Brothers VFW Post 9292, and Blue Ridge Council No. 149 Jr. O.U.A.M. He was also a member of the Democratic Party and a committeeman for the 15th District.
