Death

Arthur Carhart Marshall, 71, of Marshall died on Sunday, April 17, 2011 at Fauquier Hospital. He was born in Fauquier County on January 26, 1940 and served in the U.S. Army National Guard. Arthur was a plumber and worked for L.J. Foley for over fifty years. He enjoyed working on his yard, animals and was a devoted family man. He was a member of the Orlean United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents; Anna Blackwell Marshall and "Shorty" Marshall and a sister, Josephine Dennis. Arthur was the beloved father of James W. and his wife Erika Marshall of Culpeper. He was the dear companion of Helen Riley and her children, Janice Spangenburg, James H. Riley Jr., Phyllis Deane and the late Kevin Riley. He also leaves his step-mother, Bertha M. Marshall of Warrenton, and two sisters; Jean Queen of Remington and Betty Hensley of Warrenton. Arthur was the proud grandfather of Gabriel P. Marshall and Alexander Carhart Marshall. The family will receive friends on Thursday, April 21, 2011 from 6-8 PM at Moser Funeral Home where services will be held on Friday, April 22, at 10 AM. Interment Bright View Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family in care of the funeral home, 233 Broadview Ave, Warrenton, VA 20186.
