Death
Florence E. James, 94, of Charles Town, died Saturday, March 4, 2006, at the Shenandoah Health Village Center in Charles Town. She was born on April 24, 1911, in Jefferson County to the late Mary Jane (Furr) Ramsburg and Herbert O. Ramsburg. Mrs. James was a faithful member of Asbury United Methodist Church, Charles Town, WV, a member of the Asbury United Methodist Women, and helped with the Church Bazaar for many years. She is survived by two brothers, W. Glenn Ramsburg and wife, Dorcas, of Charles Town, and Lee B. Ramsburg and wife, Charlotte, of Sykesville, Md.; a sister-in-law, Dorothy E. Ramsburg of Charles Town; several nieces and nephews; and a dear friend, Hazel Spears, of Charles Town. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George C. "Shorty" James, who died June 5, 1987; four sisters: Eva K. Clark, Jessie Boyd, Hilda Guth, and Pauline DeHaven; and a brother, H. Clarence Ramsburg. Services will be held 11 a.m. on Wednesday, March 8, 2006, at the Melvin T. Strider Colonial Funeral Home, Charles Town, WV, with Rev. Richard Kroll officiating. Interment: Pleasant View Memory Gardens, Martinsburg, WV. Friends will be received at the Melvin T. Strider Colonial Funeral Home 7 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday.
