Death
MARION - A coroner's jury in Williamson County ruled Thursday that the death of 46-year-old Cheryl Ann Furr of Herrin was accidental. Coroner Junior Burke said the death was the result of an overdose of prescription drugs, namely Amitriptyline - an antidepressant - as well as pulmonary edema, congestion and hypothermia. Furr was found unconscious by a passerby on her front lawn at 1104 W. Maple St. on Easter morning. She was transported to Herrin Hospital, where she died later that afternoon. Initially, Furr's death was thought by law enforcement officials to be suspicious in nature. It was unclear whether or not she had died of natural causes. The pathologist's autopsy, however, ruled out foul play.HERRIN -- Cheryl A.
