Death
Leonard H. (Tab) Shamblin, 70, went home to be with the Lord July 21, 1996. Born in Rosedale, W. Va., he had lived in Akron 37 years, and was a Foreman for Alside, Inc. He was a very active member of Falls First Assembly of God where he had served as usher, greeter and board member. He was a U. S. Navy veteran of W.W. II. God blessed him with the ability to bring laughter to all with his humorous stories. His humor, kindness, generosity and unconditional love touched the lives of so many. He will forever be in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. His leaving is earth's loss but heaven's gain. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Jean; daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Gary Clegg, Stow; son and daughter-in-law, Stephen A. and Angel, Akron; grandchildren, Christopher (Crystal), Angela, Kathryn and Jacob; sisters, Leona Allan and Nancy Williams, both of Columbus, Ohio, Dolly Given, Gassaway, W. Va.; brother, Dennis Shamblin, Christiansburg, Ohio. Friends may call Wednesday, 6 to 9 p.m. at Redmon Funeral Home where Pastor Mark Ford will conduct services 10 a.m. Thursday.
