Death
Clyde Thomas Apperson, 84, who retired from Shenandoah's Pride in 1983 after 47 years as a dairy truck driver, died July 16 at Fauquier Hospital. He had Alzheimer's disease and pneumonia. Mr. Apperson, an Annandale resident, was born in Parker, in Spottsylvania County, Va. He served in the Army during World War II and participated in the battles at Normandy and the Ardennes. He was a member of Del Ray United Methodist Church in Alexandria. His interests included gardening, hunting and fishing. Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Ruth Furr Apperson of Annandale; a daughter, Lynda A. Young of Haymarket; five sisters, Lorene Leger of Arlington, Anna Lucille Mauck of Georgetown, Del., and Ruth Eastridge, Shirley Trigg and Edith Osborne, all of Fredericksburg; two brothers, John H. Apperson Jr. of Fredericksburg and Irvin G. Apperson of Buffalo Junction, Va.; and two grandchildren.Endnotes
