(February 28, 1951 - June 29, 2019)

BELLEFONTAINE. 18-year-old Kenton man, Gary L. Foglesong, was killed and his two companions seriously injured 4 a.m. today when the car in which they were riding crashed into a tree nine miles north of here on U.S. 68. State patrolmen blamed the crash on high speed and identified Hugh Ries, 18, of Rt. 5, Kenton, as the driver, and Albert C. Furr, 18, also Kenton, as a passenger. Both were seriously hurt and taken to Mary Rutanno Hospital and later removed to Lima Memorial Hospital. Officers said Foglesong and Furr were thrown from the auto with the former hitting a nearby tree head on. Ries was pinned in the wreckage. Dr. Frederick Kaylor said Foglesong died from a fractured skull. The youth was pronounced dead at the local hospital. His body was removed to Hilly-Swope Funeral Home, Belle Center. Patrolmen said there were no witnesses to the accident.
