Death
Willa Jean “Billie” Bourn, age 80, died on March 20, 2019 at the Christian Care Center of Bristol. She was born in Gilmer County, West Virginia on March 16, 1939, a daughter of the late John and Irene Stout Furr. On August 11, 1956 she was married to Richard Bourn who survives after 62 years of marriage. She was a member of Vernon Heights Baptist Church and a faithful member of the Senior Ladies Sunday School class and of the church choir as long as she was able. She was a homemaker and loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Howard Denzil Furr; and sister, Wanda Furr Krauss. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her son, Rick and wife Judi of Greeneville, SC; daughter, Dianna Lynne and husband Richard Jennings of Kingsport; two granddaughters, Lexi and husband Wes Lambert, and Alicia Jennings; three grandsons, Michael Bourn, Matthew and Nathaniel Jennings; brother, Dean Furr; two sisters, Wilda Furr Barton and Wilma Furr Jamison; brother-in-law, Robert Bourn and wife, Joy; and three sisters-in-law, Joyce Boggs and husband, Boxley, Rella Wright and husband, Bruce and Judy Stalnaker. The family will receive friends from 12- 2 pm Saturday March 23, 2019 Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 pm with Rev. Doug Wright and Pastor Mike Anglin officiating. A committal service will be conducted at 10am Monday at Oak Hill Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to Vernon Heights Baptist Church, 2547 Russell St. Kingsport, TN 37660 or to the church of one’s choice.Endnotes
