Death

Betty J. Furr, 75, of Greensburg (West Point), died Thursday, Nov. 23, 2000, at home. Born April 13, 1925, in South Greensburg, she was the daughter of the late David and Nancy Miller Behanna. Prior to her retirement, she had been employed by Seton Hill College Food Service. She was a former member of the Ladies of the Moose and a social member of AMVETS Post 88. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Carl R. Furr; a brother, David Behanna; and a special friend, Wilkus Wingrove. She is survived by two sons, Bernard J. Furr and wife, Veronica, of Mechanicsburg and Paul G. Frederick Jr. and wife, Evelyn, of Sandy, Utah; a daughter, Norma J. Furr of Greensburg, with whom Betty made her home; a stepson, Benny W. Furr and wife, Leona, of Rockbridge Baths, Va.; two stepdaughters, Betty Jones of Elyria, Ohio, and Ethel Knoll and husband, Frank, of Midland, Mich.; six grandchildren; four stepgrandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends will be received at the CLEMENT L. PANTALONE FUNERAL HOME INC., 409 W. Pittsburgh St., Greensburg, (724) 837-0020, www.pantalone.com, Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral service will be held in the funeral home Monday at 11 a.m. with Pastor David H. Clement officiating. Interment will follow in Westmoreland County Memorial Park, Greensburg. Natale N. Pantalone, supervisor.
