DAYTON - The funeral for Annie Furr Stanley, 81, of Dayton, will be conducted 11 a.m. Saturday at Lindsey Harrisonburg Funeral Home by the Rev. Matthew M. Nelson. Burial will be in Dayton Cemetery. Mrs. Stanley died Wednesday at Waynesboro Community Hospital. She had been in failing health three years. She was born May 9, 1897 in Augusta County and was a daughter of the late Luther and Rose Emma Vines Bowers. She moved to the Harrisonburg-Dayton area in 1931 and was a member of the United Methodist Church. Mrs. Stanley was married twice. In 1917, she married Russell Jones Furr, who died Nov. 11,1960. In 1963, she married Ralph E. Stanley, who died April 27,1965. Surviving are three sons, Joe Furr of McGaheysville, Lloyd B. Furr of McLean and R. Leroy Furr of Valparaiso, Ind.; two daughters, Juanita Jenkins of Redwood City, Calif, and Evelyn Knicely of Glasgow, Ky.; two sisters, Catherine Ponton of Bridgewater and Betty Furr of Bridge water Home; one brother, Hugh Bowers of Lascassas, Tenn.; 18 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren.
