Notes
Death
Miss Jane Furr, best known among her many friends as Aunt Jane Furr, passed away at the home of her sister, Mrs. Wheeler Greenwood near Viola Wednesday morning of this week. She has been in failing health the past two years, yet her death was hardly expected at this time. Miss Furr made her home in this city with her brother, the late Charles Furr for a number of years. Nancy Jane Furr was born in Hampshire County, West Virginia, May 9, 1839 and died near Viola, Illinois, Wednesday, November 23, 1910. She came to Mercer County, Illinois in 1877 and for great many years made her home in Aledo. During her life she was a faithful, untiring worker until illness impaired her strength two years ago, since which time she was a patient sufferer from Catarrh of the stomach. She leaves two brothers, one in New York City and one in Nebraska, and one sister, Mrs. Wheeler Greenwood of Viola. Funeral services were held from the Greenwood home, this Friday morning at 10 o'clock, conducted by Dr. C. E. Flak, pastor of the Presbyterian church of Viola. Interment was made in the cemetery in Suez township.Times Record, Aledo, Illinois, November 24, 1910
