Death

Kathryn Louise Furr, 70, of Terre Haute died at 4:17 a.m. Thursday, April 22, 2004, in Westridge Health Care Center. She was a sales clerk for J.C. Penney Co. She was born Aug. 23, 1933, in Terre Haute to Herman Newport and Lucille Notter Newport. Her husband, Terry R. Furr, died in 1995. Survivors include two sons, David Furr and his wife, Cathy of Terre Haute and Bruce Furr and his wife, Susan of Ypsilanti, Mich.; three daughters, Donna Hoots of Honolulu, Kathy Furr of Terre Haute and Debra Plastrik and her husband, Peter of East Lansing, Mich.; one brother, Daniel Newport and his wife, Marla of Tulsa, Okla.; seven grandchildren, Jocelyn Furr, Jesse Furr, Sarah Furr Bennett, Matthew Hoots, Mary Hoots, David Plastrik and Steven Plastrik; and two nieces and two nephews. She also was preceded in death by her parents. She was a member of Maryland Community Church. Services are private, with the Rev. John Youngblood officiating. Burial is in Roselawn Memorial Park. DeBaun Funeral Home assisted with arrangements.
