William FURR
(1780 - September 14, 1833)
William served two tours of duty in the War of 1812. The first with the 56th Regiment (Taylor's Virginia Militia) August 24th to September 17th 1814. Stationed at a camp near Baltimore. Term of servie 25 days. His next tour was with the 57th Regiment Virginia Militia. Commanded by Lieutenant Colonel Mason, Lietu. Col. Minor.
Sarah C. Emmert writes, "My sources census records (1810), marriage books, deed books, and military records from the Courthouse in Rockbridge County, the DAR library, and the National Archives."
