Death
Mrs. Sammye Ferguson Furr, age 80, of 2412 Laburnum Avenue, SW, died Saturday, July 16, 1983, in a local hospital. She was the widow of Guy L. Furr, Sr. Mrs. Furr was a member of St. John’s Episcopal Church. Surviving are her daughter, Mary Catherine Furr; son, Guy L.(Litt) Furr, Jr.; daughter in-law, Judith Gordon Furr, all of Roanoke and two grandchildren, David L. Furr and Mary Rosser Furr. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday from St. John’s Episcopal Church conducted by the Rev. Clay Turner and the Rev. Harry Crandall. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Friends may call at Oakey’s Roanoke Chapel.The Roanoke Times, Roanoke, Virginia, July 18, 1983
