Harrisonburg, Va., April 2. — Mrs. Cornelia Gibson Furr, wife of Rev. Frazier Furr, a well known superannuated minister of the Methodist Church, died at 9:46 o’clock yesterday morning at her home on Newman Avenue. She had been seriously ill for two weeks, her death following a third stroke of paralysis Friday night. Mrs. Furr was Miss Cornelia Gibson, a daughter of Nelson Gibson, and was born at Upperville, Fauquier County, March 16, 1842. Her age, therefore, was seventy-five years and fifteen days. Mrs. Furr had been a member of the Methodist Church for many years. She was a woman of excellent Christian character, and had a large circle of friends. Besides her husband, Mrs. Furr is survived by one sister, Mrs. J. T. Maxwell, of Staunton. A niece, Miss Nelson Maxwell, makes her, home with the family. Funeral services, conducted by Rev. J. Howard Wells, D. D., will be held at 7:30 o’clock tonight from the home on Newman Avenue. Interment will be in Thornrose Cemetery in Staunton Tuesday morning.Staunton Daily News, Staunton, Virginia, April 3, 1917
