Merle G. Furr, 82, of Bella Vista, died Tuesday, July 17, 2001, at Concordia Care Center in Bella Vista. She was born May 8, 1919, in Loretto, Neb., to Guy and Cora Kruse Townsend. She was a bookkeeper with Boone County Hospital in Nebraska. She moved to this area in November 1995 from Columbus, Neb. Survivors include a daughter, Judie Hartsock of Bella Vista; a son, Jerry Furr of Roseville, Calif.; a brother, Harvey Townsend of Newberg, Ore.; a sister, Myrna Noble of Albion, Neb.; and three grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Arrangements are by Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Home of Bentonville.Endnotes
